“As someone who was deeply entrenched in the beef and dairy industries for 18 years and now works full time to expose and share the reality of them, I am hugely supportive of the campaign to Scrap Factory Farming.
We need farmers now more than we ever have before – but we need them to be farming something else, for the benefit of human health, to boost our resilience to future pandemics, to end cruelty to farmed animals, to heal the earth and ensure the very survival of our planet and humanity. There are many of us around the world working hard to help make that happen, by educating and supporting farmers in transitioning to animal-free agriculture. We need EVERYONE to come on board and play their part in creating change. We still have time – but we need to act now.
Animal farming is inherently, heartbreakingly cruel. There is NOTHING humane and NOTHING sustainable about it whatsoever. The effects animal products and proteins have on human health, the absolutely abhorrent way innocent animals – non-human mothers and their babies and reproductive systems are abused and exploited… the fact these practices and promotion of them is even still legal, yet alone allowed? It just beggars belief. I strongly feel if the truth of animal agriculture was common knowledge and consumers knew just how much death, torture and lifelong suffering went into every splash of dairy milk, or every slice of bacon, just because they wanted it in their coffee or a sandwich, they would not want any part of that. Don’t ever think ‘it doesn’t happen here’. I used to think that too.”
