Animal Interfaith Alliance

The Animal Interfaith Alliance, an alliance of 17 faith-based animal advocacy organisations, fully supports SCRAP’s legal challenge to end factory farming.  The appalling conditions that exist in factory farms and animal markets has created the ideal environments for the emergence of pandemics. The use of antibiotics in the animals that humans eat creates anti-biotic resistance in both humans and animals, destroying our resilience to these pandemics. Factory farming causes pollution to the air and our water ways, killing other life, and it destroys natural environments in order to grow crops to feed to animals, a system which is many times less efficient than growing crops to feed humans directly. This, in turn, creates famines and droughts that lead to poverty. We have a duty to care for our common home, to practice responsible stewardship over the natural world, and to be kind to all the sentient beings we share this resource-limited and fragile planet with. AIA promotes a vegan spirituality as the solution to the crises humans have created.

Warm wishes,
